Vinous Neal Martin 99 Points: "The 2019 Palmer is beautifully defined on the nose with pencil lead infused black fruit, crushed stone, and hints of pressed flowers. Amazingly well focused. The palate is medium-bodied with supple and exquisitely sculpted tannins, unerring symmetry with a crescendo towards the utterly harmonious and persistent finish. This exudes a sense of completeness. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting."

James Suckling 99 Points: "So much sweet tobacco, stone, brambleberry and currant on the nose. The palate is full and compact with very polished tannins, yet they are solid and sturdy and run the length and width of the wine. Energetic acidity. Very structured and powerful, yet agile and impressive. Historic feel. From biodynamically grown grapes. This needs at least six years of bottle age to soften."

The Wine Independent 99 Points: "The Palmer 2019 is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs considerable shaking to unlock notions of baked plums, boysenberry preserves, and crème de cassis, leading to wafts of rose oil and espresso. The medium to full-bodied palate is jam-packed with rich, seductive black and blue fruit, supported by heart-thumping tension and very fine tannins, finishing with epic length and jaw-dropping fragrance. Stunning!"

Wine Cellar Insider 98 points: "the first thing you notice is the showy display of lilacs and roses before moving on to the currants, plums, cigar wrapper, black cherries and earthy nuances. as captivating as the perfume is, it is the sensuous, rich, silky, elegant, fresh, vibrant palate presence with its layers of perfectly ripe, black and red fruits. there is length, lift and longevity here with a vibrancy that resonates. the finish builds and expands as the fruits linger. like all great vintages of palmer, give this time to develop allowing the wine to gain complexity and additional nuances. this should age effortlessly for decades. drink from 2032-2060." , Reviewed on 29.03.22 by Jeff Leve

Vinous Antonio Galloni 98 points: "The 2019 Palmer is a truly special wine, but it is also going to need a number of years to be at its finest. Dense and plush, with explosive energy, the 2019 possesses tremendous richness in its dark fruit. As always, the blend features a high percentage of Merlot (43%) which works so well in complementing the savoriness of the Cabernet. Thomas Duroux and his team fashioned another absolutely compelling Palmer in 2019." Drinking Window 2029 - 2069, Reviewed on 24.02.22 by Antonio Galloni

Jane Anson 98 points: "Silky, rich and nuanced black cherry and bilberry fruit, touches of cocoa bean, liquroice, sour plum and fennel, all utterly enveloping. It unrolls slowly, building momentum with carefully placed tannins, delicate yet with a punch of power and concentration underneath. Large sized oak casks for ageing introduced alongside barrels, 60% new oak. Harvest September 19 to October 11." Drinking Window 2029 - 2048, Reviewed on 12.07.21 by Jane Anson

Falstaff 98 points: "deep dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. on the nose, aromas of blackberry and black cherry, a hint of fine oak and nougat, a fine nutty touch, candied orange zest, some liquorice, and subtle hints of marzipan. the palate is powerful, complex, and tightly woven, with a finesse-rich structure, supporting tannins, black forest berry fruit, spicy and darkly fruited on the lingering finish. still very undeveloped and reserved overall, with subtle sweetness on the aftertaste, a vin de garde, a long-distance runner that still requires patience. (2030-2060)."

Drinking Window 2027 - 2060, Reviewed on 03.12.21 by Yves Beck
